Oilers' Moreau activated from IR

03/12/2009 - Edmonton, AB (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Edmonton Oilers team captain Ethan Moreau was activated off the injured reserve list on Thursday, nearly two weeks after he suffered a scary right eye injury.

Moreau was hurt in a 3-2 win against Minnesota on February 28 when he was the recipient of an inadvertent high-stick from the Wild's Antti Miettinen. The injury sent Moreau to the hospital and left him with blurred vision, which has since improved.

Moreau will wear a visor when he returns to the ice, likely tonight for a home game against Atlanta. He has missed Edmonton's last four contests.

The 33-year-old Moreau is participating in his 13th NHL season and has 12 goals with 11 assists for 23 points thus far in 2008-09. The veteran left wing is in his ninth season with Edmonton after coming over from Chicago in a March 20, 1999 trade.
